Design and Technology

Design and technology is an inspiring, challenging and practical subject at Revoe Learning Academy. Pupils are provided with opportunities to explore their creativity as well as develop their construction and problem solving skills. Through the curriculum, students are taught to create solutions to real and relevant issues, considering their own and others’ needs, wants and values.

Design and Technology draws on disciplines such as mathematics, science and engineering; developing inquisitive thoughtful learners who can use skills from across the curriculum. We aim to encourage resourceful, independent, innovative and enterprising learners who are capable of taking risks. Through the evaluation of past and present design and technology, pupils develop a critical understanding of the impact of DT on daily life and the wider world. High quality design and technology education makes an essential contribution to the creativity, culture and well-being of future generations.
